Today we came to Venice and when it floods it is really flooding and we couldn’t get to our hotel room. When it went down we thought that we shouldn’t stay there in case it floods again tomorrow and we can’t get to the train, so we stayed in another hotel. When it is flooded you use big plank walkways to get around or wear big galoshes. We went to St Mark’s square and it was completely under water, and the shops were filled with water too. There were seagulls swimming in St Mark’s Square.
Later we went back to St Mark’s square and all the water was gone. People are selling clothes that hang low to the ground and when the water was gone the clothes were wet. We went into St Marks Basilica. The floors were tiled with mosaics, and the ceiling was covered with gold mosaics.
